PhotoTools includes:

PhotoTools also installs a folder to the root level of your hard drive named "Extensis PhotoTools™ 3.0". This folder contains:

QuickStart Guide.pdf - a document to help get you started quickly with PhotoTools 3.0.
Texture Samples folder - contains about 50 seamless texture files (created in PhotoTexture & saved in JPEG format) that can be used in PhotoButton or PhotoTexture. For fun and learning, try recreating these textures in PhotoTexture yourself!
Register PhotoTools 3.0 - launch this to register your copy of PhotoTools (if you haven't already done so).
PhotoAnimator folder - contains the PhotoAnimator application and its Tutorial Sample Files.
PhotoAnimator is an application which does not run inside Photoshop. You may launch PhotoAnimator from the Extensis Menu in Photoshop, or directly from the Finder.

(F) SERIALIZATION/REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Launch Adobe Photoshop (or PhotoAnimator). During the launch, you will be requested to serialize and register the software. Please enter the serial number located on the back of the manual. If you do not have a serial number, you can choose to run PhotoTools in demo mode; demo mode allows full functionality for 30 days.
Please register using one of the built-in electronic registration methods. If you do not have Internet access, fax/modem, or printer, you may fill out the registration card in the back of the manual.

(G) NOTES TO UPGRADING USERS
Older versions of PhotoTools:
PhotoTools 3.0 should not be run simultaneously with older versions of PhotoTools.
If have an older version of PhotoTools on your machine, the 3.0 installer will remove any old PhotoTools files from your Photoshop plugins folder, but will NOT delete those files. They are preserved by the installer in the main Photoshop directory in a folder called "Removed PhotoTools Items".
To restore your previous version of PhotoTools, just move these files back into your Photoshop plugin folder.
* PhotoText is the exception to this - please see the Special Notes About PhotoText.
Restoring Custom PhotoBar Toolbars & Buttons:
If you have created custom toolbars or custom buttons in a previous version of PhotoTools & you wish to preserve them in 3.0, follow these directions:
- Run the PhotoTools 3.0 installer. Do NOT manually remove the old PhotoTools files beforehand. All your custom files will be moved to the "Removed PhotoTools Items" folder as described above.
- For custom buttons, go to the "Removed PhotoTools Items" folder and locate the "Custom Buttons" file in the "PhotoBars Categories" folder. Go to the newly installed directory of the same name, and replace the new "Custom Buttons" file with the old one.
- For custom toolbars, go to the "Removed PhotoTools Items" folder and locate the "PhotoBars Toolbars" directory. Your custom toolbar files will be saved here. Move them into the newly installed "PhotoBars Toolbars" directory.
Preserving old saved effect settings
If you have saved an effect setting in PhotoShadow, PhotoGlow, PhotoEmboss, or PhotoBevel, that setting will automatically be available for use in your 3.0 counterparts. You don't have to do anything!
Settings from PhotoButton 2.0 will not be usable in PhotoButton 3.0.
Reinstalling previous versions of PhotoTools
If for some reason you want to reinstall an older version of PhotoTools after installing PhotoTools 3.0, you will have to manually remove the 3.0 files beforehand. Older installers will not overwrite 3.0 files.

(H) SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT PHOTOTEXT 2.0
PhotoText is not a part of PhotoTools 3.0, but if you own this component it will NOT be removed during 3.0 installation. It will remain available in Photoshop, and is fully compatible with PhotoTools 3.0.
PhotoText will be available from Photoshop's "Filter" menu, in the "PhotoTools" submenu.
If you are not a PhotoText user, but would like to take advantage of our award-winning plugin that extends Photoshop's type capabilities, you can download a fully functional FREE version from our website.

(I) NOTE ON THIRD-PARTY COMPATIBILITY
Due to its advanced capabilities, PhotoTools 3.0 currently works in Photoshop 4.0 and 5.0 only. It does not work in any other application which supports Photoshop plugins.
